About us
Who we are
Ethiopian Diaspora Physicians Action Group (EDPAG) is a registered 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization established by physicians of Ethiopian descent, living outside of Ethiopia. It was established in January 2021 primarily to promote involvement of diaspora physicians in improving medical education and healthcare delivery system in Ethiopia.
EDPAG’s members understand the unfortunate truth of emigration of Ethiopian physicians over the years as a result of complex issues influenced by a plethora of factors in the country. Although many of these physicians have been successful practitioners in the countries they immigrate to, they have not been involved in the health and socioeconomic issues of their home country.
We at EDPAG, strive to harness the intellectual, financial, and philanthropic capacity of these diaspora physicians and to direct it to supporting medical education and healthcare delivery systems in Ethiopia.
